Summer Festival at Musashisakai Driving School

On August 29, 1999, the Darunee Scholarship program publicized at the Summer Festival of Musashisakai Driving School commemorating the 39th anniversary of its establishment. For many years this school has been engaging in charitable activities with local residents, aiming at creating an affluent society. At the festival, a talk by Mr. Tetsuro Tanba (an actor) gathered a crowd. The Darunee Scholarship booth, along with fire station and post office, drew the interest of many people.

This school has been cooperating with us in various ways, such as placing posters and Darunee Scholarship leaflets in the waiting room, and showing our video. We respect the willingness and hard work of the staff members for preparing events with the community and supporting the Darunee Scholarship program.

Many schools, groups, and associates are introducing Darunee Scholarship at various events and cultural festivals.

International Cooperation Festival

International Cooperation Festival, an annual event held by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various organizations engaged in international cooperation, was held in Hibiya Park on October 2nd and 3rd this year. Minsai Center joined in the event.

More than ten donors volunteered to explain the activities of Minsai Center at its booth. They also shared their experiences as donors and talked about study tours with people who visited our booth. Two donors demonstrated in local Thai clothing and drew much attention. Many people showed interest in Minsai Center's activities. One person became a donor on the spot.

We brought many pillows from Northeastern Thailand to sell. They sold out on the first day. Hand-woven letter racks also started to sell after a volunteer put a tag of "rack for warm hearts (jo-sashi)." In Japanese, 'jo' has two meanings: letter and warm heart. In addition, many handcrafts donated by volunteers attracted people's interest in Minsai's activities.

To our delight, a university student volunteer, who had not yet been a donor, made a donation. He said, "I can afford to skip two parties."

This festival renewed our confidence that many people support the work Minsai Center is doing. Thank you for your cooperation. We hope you continue to support our activities in the future
